Short film about the first day at a new school

When you start a new class, you often get asked to present yourself. Watch this short film about how it can feel to have to share what one is good at:

  • Was there anything you liked about the film? Did you recognize yourself in the film? Did anything surprise you?
  • Was there anything you did not like so much? Was anything in the film boring?
  • Was there anything in the film you did not understand or that you thought was difficult?

This semester we have focussed a lot on talking and you have learned ...
  • how to greet people in a friendly and polite way,
  • how to present yourself and tell more about your family, if you have any pets, where you live, what you do and what interests you have,
  • useful phrases when you go shopping or have breakfast at a café or hotel, and
  • different kinds of jobs you can have.
We have also talked about ...
  • in which countries they speak English and
  • some examples mentioned in the book: Manchester, Scotland and Australia.
